We are already using powder in nine of our plants for primer and GM is using it in four. But we are trying to use it as a clear coat and I think success is at least three years away. We have some trouble with it discoloring in the lighter colors and we still need to verify durability, which will take some time. Powder can be recycled, however, if you stay with the same color and the main advantage is it’s virtually pollution free.

One of the main problems in all these steps is keeping dirt out of the paint. Dirt is a generic term referring to dust and paint mist floating in the air.
