Tue, 10 Mar 2009 12:20:35 PDT Open Question: Does anybody build an improved chain tensioner system for the Chrysler 2.7L Engine?
I am rebuilding the2.7L engine in a Chrysler Concorde that failed due to the chain tensioner bracket failing resulting in a loss of valve timing on the engine. What I am wondering is there an aftermarket chain tensioner for this engine that is a little bit more heavy duty and less likely to fail. Note that I am not worried about the chain; the chain itself is heavy enough for application. What I would like to find though is an improved tensioner system wihere the brackets will not fail.
ONE FINAL COMMENT: Do not post an answer to this question where you “rant and rave” about the quality of the Chrysler 2.7L engine. If you want to rant and rave about this engine do it someplace else as you are not answering the question I am asking.

Open Question: What would cause the low beams not to work/open on a 93 chrysler new yorker?
When i pull the knob that is supposed to turn on the low beams/open the head light door, nothing happens. However, when the knob is fully pulled, and i pull back the turn signal lever to activate the brights, the headlight doors open, and the brights come on. The lever does not stay forward, and when it is released the lights turn off, but the door stays open. Although that doesn’t work, i have had success using the automatic headlight system ( the switch on the rear view mirror, when pushed it senses when to turn the headlights on in light/dark situations as many newer cars have.) the doors open and the low beams work completely fine, as well as the brights. We think it maybe be an electrical wiring problem, but are unsure.
